Agroindustrial engineering


Agro-industrial engineering is a branch of engineering that brings together two important issues for any nation in the world: the industrial sector and the agricultural sector. At first, this mix of sectors was a bit confusing, and it may even have dissuaded more than one from becoming an industrial engineer.

In general terms, agribusiness involves the application of industrial processes to farm products, hence its name. An Agroindustrial Engineer will demonstrate creativity to find solutions to the problems of producers, processors and marketers, especially on a small scale, taking into account the scarcity of resources, the economic crisis and the lack of markets. In addition, it must develop an ethical and political (non-partisan) work on the organization of agricultural producers and promote the formation of integrated companies.

Among the advantages that agroindustrial engineers have is that they can specialize in one of the various branches of agribusiness: agriculture, livestock, fishing, forestry, fruit and food. There is also a specialized branch for those who want to dedicate themselves to the construction of agro-industrial structures: barns, stables, silos and the like.
